A Pregnant Male Seahorse!
Today we had such a great dive with Putri, when she completed her PADI Enriched Air Diver Specialty Course.
During the dive we spotted 2 Seahorses, and one of them is pregnant! Did you know that pregnant Seahorses are males? Yes, the happy dad carries the babies on his brood pouch for a few weeks, before giving birth. We are all excited about the new coming babies!
It was a long dive (yes, Nitrox!!) and we also saw other cool creatures, very common in Tasi Tolu, as Pygmy Pipehorses, Urang Utan Crabs, Frogfishes, Rough Snout Ghost Pipefishes and the Phyllodesmium Longicirrum, which is known as a solar-powered Nudibranch because of its symbiotic relationship with photosynthetic zooxanthellae in its tissues.
